i snagged this shot as lauren was rounding third in our softball game thursday. we lost the game but at least the team we played was actually a good team.

this is my favorite shot ive taken with my new camera yet. i didnt really do any editing other than boosting the saturation a little bit. we went to first friday in downtown bryan and hung out with a bunch of our friends. it was a good ol' fashioned time.

saturday night we all hung out at erins a little while before me lauren and haley went to see the box. on a side note, the box was easily the worst movie i have ever paid to see. dont see it. ever.

lauren and i drove back to henderson friday night so that we could catch a halloween/birthday party for our friend rachel. when we stopped in crockett, lauren decided she wanted a ring pop. she is very mature.

so my brother-in-law of sorts has this awesome story about the jalepeno tree. the key feature of this story just so happens to be this awesome slogan. so every time i see this sign, i laugh a little to myself. just thought it deserved to be documented

I GOT MY NEW CAMERA!!! heres a picture of me playing with all the awesome new stuff. I am definitely still learning how to use this beast but thats why i bought it. hopefully i will have some slightly more inspiring and professional style shots in the future. mainly though, im just excited to get to play with it!

we went to visit one of Lauren's pennies (her group of girls from UMHB) and while the ladies caught up, me and Kate's little guy hung out. we had a good time as you can tell.

after spending the weekend in henderson, we took the long way home so that we could detour to palestine and see laurens grad-dad. it was totally worth the detour and lauren snapped this shot while i was driving back.

Lauren and myself own a stellar television compliments of my older brother and his amazing lady friend, but since I am currently without job we do not have cable. Josh is a compassionate friend and took pity on us by allowing us to borrow his seasons of Psych which is truly and amazing show, if you have never watched it, I highly suggest it. Thanks Josh!

This past Sunday, the wife and I were feeling artistic so we went and bought a few canvi (plural of canvas). Lauren had a great idea for hers which you will see later in this post, but she wanted to include a cityscape. I decided that I should make this a theme so I took inspiration from my family (Lauren's cityscape and Blake's robot tattoo idea) and created this fun little illustration. I think it's a nice addition to our walls.

Softball is back! Unfortunately, since I am not a Scott & White employee I cannot join the team (yet, too early in the season) so I happily stood on a wall past the out field and took this panoramic. I know it's not perfect but I like it none the less.

A whole group of us ventured out Saturday morning to Caldwell, TX for the annual Kolache Festival. Despite the rain, it was a really fun morning as you can see from Grace and Josh's faces in the back. We definitely did not let the rain get us down!

While riding our bikes around campus Sunday afternoon, Lauren and I saw a game of real life Quidditch! It was hilarious. everyone ran around with brooms between their legs and the snitch was a guy dressed in gold sprinting around with a flag football flag on his butt. Hysterical!

Erin (in the middle) made dinner for Courtney, Lauren and me Monday night. It was so much fun to get to hang out with friends and chat over food. Thanks again Erin, it was delicious.

Here's the shot I mentioned earlier with mine and Lauren's pictures together. You can't really see it too well here but Lauren's picture is a moose with and umbrella sitting in front of a city. Both pictures are really dorky but they fit our place just fine.

Me and the wifey decided to go for a bike ride since it actually felt pretty nice outside instead of boiling hot. Lauren got to use her new seat that I got her so that her butt wont hurt anymore, apparently it worked.

I went over to Clint's this afternoon since he was done with work and i was sick of looking for work. While we were sitting around chatting on the balcony, we saw this pretty cool rainbow form out of nowhere. I didnt have my camera on me but luckily my iphone has a decent camera function so i was able to snap the shot. thanks apple for your crazy over priced products that i always complain about but secretly envy.

That's right folks, SUSHI! we had a very eclectic group of people come out to eat, most of which had never met each other but the evening was a great success. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and as you can see here, so did josh and clint (left to right).

Lauren's old roomie and bestie Jeniffer came in this weekend and when these two are together, it will inevitably end at Target as some point. Despite both of their extremely voluminous shoe collections, they both felt compelled to browse and Jen actually walked out with 4 new pairs.

While killing time Sunday afternoon, Lauren and I went to Michael's to get a canvas and we also found these really funny dancing robots, so of course we had to get them. They are now jamming out on our mantel below the TV for all our guests to see.

Many of you know my bff Martin. Well now his little sister Lily is officially an Aggie here in College Station. After only one week in town, Lily's car broke down at Academy and I had to play mechanic. We got it all sorted out but the real irony of the situation is Martin gave Lily my phone number earlier that week as a just in case. After doing this, Martin calls me and says "chances are you will never hear from her." Oh, how the universe laughs at us.

So there you have it. another massive update. This only goes up to Monday of this week and seeing how it is now Thursday, I am already behind again. But at least I have this much. Thanks for checking it out and I will try to get the rest up by Sunday. Have a great weekend!

Update on the Job Hunt

As many of you might know, I am currently looking for a job due to the fact that I can no longer mooch off of my parents or wife without feeling guilty. When I was a student, I didn't feel in the least bit unjustified in letting others support my lazy butt. Now that I officially a graduate of the great Texas A&M University I feel a little less justified in sitting around and doing nothing all day.
In order to remedy this situation, I have set myself upon a quest to.....FIND A JOB!!!
In short, it is not going well. I have applied for close to thirty jobs but I have yet to get a single call back except for a "work-from-home" lighting company based in Fargo, North Dakota. Sounds promising, I know, but I would really prefer to have an office to work from so I'm gonna hold off on that gem for now.
Anywho, tomorrow I am going to start cold calling businesses around town in search of something that is at least slightly related to my field but I must add that it is discouraging when you graduate from college Magna Cum Laude with a 3.760 GPA and are then turned down a job at Starbucks.
Well, wish me luck folks. I have a feeling I am really going to need it.

We were out of the state for a week so of course this upload is going to be a very very big one. so in order not to overwhelm everyone with the awesomeness that is my extraordinary life, I am going to split up the posts and limit this one to the Seattle trip and the few days before we left. so lets get to it...

Before we took off for Seattle, Lauren and I went out to eat with Josh, Tommy, Grace and Erin. It was a right good ol' time! Tommy is depicted here telling one of his enthralling tales and Josh, who despite how it looks in this picture is not drunk, is listening closely. It was definitely a good evening of food and friends.

So instead of driving down to Austin on Wednesday to catch our plane, we thought we would drop in a night early and stay with my sister-in-law and my companero (sister-in-law's husband, there really does need to be an English word for this). We spent the night chatting it up and laughing at their new cat Tigger.

I think its pretty awesome that our first day in Seattle just so happens to be #100 of the project. Almost like we planned it, but any-who. Since we didn't get to explore the city the first night, I thought I would show off a picture of Blake's last hockey game of the season. Really made me realize how much I miss playing hockey.

Since Blake has probably the best job every, he was able to take off work the entire time we were in which meant that on our first morning in Seattle we were able to walk down to the market and pier. We spent most of the morning walking around the city and got ourselves some awesome tourist shirts that we actually wore to "Industry Night" where Microsoft bought us a bunch of drinks and games of pool. That's right, we got connections!

We took this picture on the pier before the most amazing meal I have ever had. We actually saw this restaurant The Crab Pot on tv and decided we had to try it out. We actually went kayaking this day and saw a whole plethora of other awesomeness like the house from Sleepless in Seattle, the paintball park from 10 Things I Hate About You, one of the boats from Deadliest Catch and had a sea plane almost land on our head. Very exciting day.

This day, we hiked down to the bottom of this amazing water fall. It was actually COLD down there...in August. I don't mean a little chilly, I'm talking like 60-something degrees. Absolutely amazing. Had a great day just getting to hang out with Blake and Amanda.

Very unfortunately, this was our last day in Seattle. I thought I would try to show off how amazing Blake and Amanda's place really is. I am super jealous of their setup, but they have worked hard to get where they are so they deserve it.

So there you have it. Our trip was way too short and it made me realize how much I miss having Blake and Amanda around. Lauren and I also realized how much we love Seattle and we will absolutely be headed back as soon as we can. Thanks again blake and amanda for hooking us up with such an amazing trip and we hope to see you two again soon!

As of Wednesday of this week, my lovely wife and I will be gratefully leaving the state of Texas behind and flying north for Seattle, Washington. My older brother and his most excellent ladyfriend have officially been residents of the great state of Washington for two years now and none of my family has yet made the trek to visit them. In order to remedy this problem immediately, lauren and i have decided to spend almost an entire week house crashing to make up for time lost.

But before we take off for cooler climates, i have a Project 365 update for you few but faithful readers.

I know what your thinking; "four guys in a hot tub, a little too much love going around if ya' know what I mean." You are in fact correct, these are three of my favorite guys on earth and each of them drove a great distance to see me graduate this past Friday. Thursday night, we all hung out at Jason's (far right) hotel and went for a swim.

It's not every day that you graduate from Texas A&M University with Magna Cum Laude honors (sorry, i just really wanted to brag a bit, i worked hard for that right). Graduation was super fun, I got to sit close to a bunch of my friends and spend the entire day hanging out with friends and family.

I dont normally put two pictures from the same day but I felt like graduation day is pretty special and it deserved two (besides, im making these rules, I can do whatever I want!). Im not entirely sure why I was throwing out a peace sign but who cares. It was definitely a fun way to end the weekend, and since all the weddings are over, next we go home we can actually spend time with our families instead of having to run around like crazy all weekend.

So there you have it, our crazy busy weekend was just that, busy, but also extremely fun and enjoyable. i might have one more update before we leave for seattle but probably not. so on saturday, haley and grace wanted to go see (500) Days of Summer [pretty stellar movie by the way, i highly recommend watching it] but before hand we had to grab some food. we opted for jason's deli and i ordered one of their pre-made sandwiches, little did i know it was going to be a monster! this thing was massive, but it was delicious.

lauren and i went on a scavenger hunt sunday for manhole covers on our road. we realized there were about a million of them in the one mile stretch so we mapped them all out [ill post the pictures and video later, its actually more interesting than it sounds. i promise :)]. while we were walking though, lauren took this one of me and i thought i would steal it and claim it as my own. dont tell her.

so i thought it was only fitting to take one last picture at langford since i spent most of my waking hours there these past four years. today i choose a fun angle of the breaker box in our studio. since the geniuses that wired the building put the light switch to the studio all the way across the building, we used the breakers instead. i like the symbolism of shutting of the breaker on my studio career. cheesy i know, but i like it.

haley, grace and erin (out of the shot again, she really needs to learn how to find the camera) invited me and lauren out to karaoke night on northgate. it was a good time for sure, listening to terribly out of pitch drunk wannabe singers. haley was really excited about it, if you couldnt tell.

lauren and i both had very long days today but we spent the evening eating with grace and erin at roadhouse. i was going to post a picture of them but we totally forgot to take any while we were eating so i will just have to wait until next time. instead, i snapped a shot of lauren pointing out the amazingly rare phenomenon that is both of our cars parked in the front spots at our apartment. there are about 5 cars that very literally never leave so its impossible to park out front but by some divine working, two spots were open and we snagged them. oh how interesting our lives are...

since lauren was gone for the weekend, i had the place to myself. instead of doing anything productive i sat around and made stupid faces while wearing even stupider glasses. it was a good time.

after lauren got back from galveston, we went to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings and it was awesome. not a great picture but it was the only one i took all day, haha.

my parents came back through town and hung out at our apartment for a while. my favorite part of this picture is moms face, what is she so angry about? we always like when anyone comes to visit us, so it was def. the highlight of the day.

we went to the rooftop bar with grace, erin, josh, and hudson. it was a whole heap of fun. we told hudson and erin to "act normal" and this is what we got. not sure whats going on but i like it.

i didnt take a picture this day but i did shoot some video of rusty and josh while we were hanging out at graces so i took a snapshot of rusty from the video. its pretty crappy quality but i think it pretty much summarizes the day. sitting around and doing nothing, haha!

so i have been growing my beard or for a while now simply because i was getting so little sleep in studio that shaving was the last thing on my list of to-do's. But alas, the mustache was really getting on my nerves so i decided to document my "hippy look" before the shave and the after shot of me all clean't up! i threw my nice hippy hat in just for kicks.

so i actually took a lot of pictures today since we had to go out to this pretty awesome garden for studio. for our project we were required to make a site model of the garden and while it was happening, i snapped a shot of my group members hard at work. this picture really tells you exactly how much i really do in class, right?

laurens softball team needed another guy to play so i was added to the roster. given that i havent swung a bat in about 10 years (no joke) i think i did pretty well with my two runs and three base hits.

we went back to henderson for the fourth of july weekend and what better way to celebrate than pool party. me, lauren and joseph headed over to meagan's just like old times and spent the evening just relaxing. it was great and made me realize how much i miss my brothers and old friends :(

we went to see this awesome tree house that a family friend build out on his land. it was seriously one of the coolest tree dwellings ive seen in a long time.

and lastly, a picture of some seriously over due rain. it hasnt rained here in a really really long time but of course it would pick the day we have to drive three hours to flood on us. i thought these rain drops on one of my moms plants in the font yard looked really cool so i snapped a close up.

laurens parents came into town and we spent the day hanging out with them. it was a lot of fun and really nice to have someone come visit us for once instead of the other way around. While they were in, they took us to get groceries and i thought these potatoes looked really interesting. i know, im weird.

While i was working on homework, lauren called me and said that we were going to have a random grillin' at Madalyn's place so i took a much needed break and hung out with some friends for a change.

While i was at langford, i saw these two other fixed gear bikes parked next to mine. yes this really was the most interesting part of my day.

I decided that our dining room needed documentation. this is where we keep our bikes. we obviously eat somewhere else. despite the bikes being space hogs, im proud of them since i rebuilt them and made them into what they are now. im especially a fan of laurens pink chain :)

Went to another one of laurens softball games and i have to say that this one was amazing. her team came back from a 7 run deficit to win the game. it was pretty amazing, especially laurens three-out inning she had in left field.

well folks, this is going to be a long update...
School has been blasting me this past week and tonight i decided to take a personal night and finally update these picture. I have continued to take at least one picture each day but i havent been able to update daily...so here goes!!!

I seem to be falling behind with my updates due to school starting up.
I have kept up with taking my pictures for my project 365 but i havent been able to clean them up and post them yet. i promise, as soon as i get a few extra minutes Ill post them.
school has started and it has started strong. I am currently taking 2 classes equaling 8 hours and its about to kick my butt. My writing class is absolutely terrible and I already hate it. There is way too much work to get done and I dont really know how im gonna do it all. My studio is not so bad but its super time consuming. Im actually sitting in my studio room right now working on homework (well, taking a short break). If i can make it through these first four weeks, Ill be fine but as of right now, Im gonna get my butt kicked all over the place.

Saturday was a very impromptu day for me.
I had absolutely no plans all day and somehow ended up staying out till about 1:00am.

Ive had problems with my wireless modem/router combo since day one and i finally called up linksys today to get some help. What a waste of time. Its really sad when I know more about their products than the "senior technician" does. Last night was lauren's first scott & white softball team game. it was surprisingly fun, given that it was a "D League" game :)
Lauren had a couple of hits and brought in a run contributing to the brutal 14-3 beating of the flying squirrels...yeah that was their actual name. Overall, grace and i had a good time cheering lauren on from the stands. looking forward to the rest of the season.

so our friend morgan gave lauren this really awesome book for her graduation. Its called HOW TO BE AN EXPLORER OF THE WORLD by Keri Smith.

the book is filled with these awesome assignments and random tasks aimed at teaching you to essentially just be more observant and weird, haha! if anyone knows me, they know this is right up my ally so i def. intend on partaking in the majority of these activities along with lauren. the book insists you take some form of documentary equipment with you every where you go, like a camera or notebook. I pretty much always carry my video camera around so thats all well and good but recently ive been really bad about making sure i have my sketchbook with me all the time. i used to be really good about having my little moleskin journal with me all the time so im gonna work on doing that again.
anyways check the book out if you get a chance. its super interesting.

today i finally broke down and bought new shoes to replace my adidas.
ive had my adidas since the summer before my sophomore year of college and needless to say, they are a little worn out. i ventured over to academy today to pick up some new shoes and i thought it would be best if i got some more indoor soccer style shoes since the adidas lasted me so long. i snagged some white nikes as replacements but i thought in order to send of my adidas in style, they deserved a photo shoot. what better way to say goodbye then to have a couple of pictures showing the old and new generations of brents footwear? haha, anyways, here's the shots. hope you like them!

Today, I helped my friends Grace and Erin move into their new apartment. I was so freaking hot outside that what could have been a relatively easy move (due mainly to the fact that neither of the girls moved any furniture today) turned out to be one of the sweatiest days Ive had this year. i started the day off by finding out that i have no way of getting any more financial aid from the school for this summer because im still in their system as a dependent of my parents even though im not anymore. super lame.
but the day got better after that b/c i got my new video camera in the mail and its pretty awesome (the new memory card will be here early next week hopefully).
also i hit up a sweet session of volleyball tonight with a group of friends that always make things interesting :)

so tonight has been super long, great but long.
started out by hanging with josh hinkle, freshly back from germany where he spent four months. we all decided to head out and grab some food with grace and jenna. after that, we spent some time at grace's apartment, then headed over to martins place where we met up with brandt and his friend meagan.
when you get together with martin and brandt, its always guaranteed to have some great stories and laughs. i dont think ive enjoyed myself like that in a while. took some fun videos and pictures (got a couple of candidates for the project 365) but its too late to edit and post tonight.
Its going to be a long weekend so who knows when Ill get all of the pics and vids up but i promise, they will come.
As for now, bed. need to get my sleep on b/c i know i will need the rest for this crazy weekend :)

So Ive decided to start another one...yet again.

Lauren found this really fun thing to do called project 365 where you take a photo of something every single day. The picture needs to have some kind of importance to that day. something that might summarize your day overall or something that summarizes an important part of that day. Anyways, it sounds like a lot of fun to me and since I have a camera on my iphone, i should have no problem snapping a shot at least once a day. I have a much nicer camera but lauren tends to steal it about half the time so, when possible i will take nicer photos that i can touch up in photoshop but i wouldnt expect stellar shots every day. anywho, heres the first of many.

So I was browsing the web today and found an awesome site that had some pretty amazing pictures of old tattoos. As you may or may not know, I really love tattoos and piercings. I have a few of my own, but with tattoos, I have only begun. I plan on getting quite a bit more work done (later in the future, obviously, dont need to be wasting money at the moment when we only have one family income). My dad just bought my wife and I a new dvd player off of woot.com. If you've never checked out woot its pretty amazing. to sum it up, woot puts up a new deal every day so you have to act fast but some days, the deal is just too good to even think about not partaking...like today. Since Im so poor, I was able to get me awesome dad to buy me a refurbed Philips Upconverting DVD Player with DivX and HDMI for $20! Im super excited for it to get here so I can use it on my sweet TV that my older brother got me for my wedding, christmas and next 8 birthdays. below is a couple of pic of the DVD player and my TV.

So, on the way back from the Sister-in-Law's wedding in Austin, we stopped by Ikea b/c we've really needed a coffee table for a long time. So since we were there, we thought we'd look around. BIG MISTAKE! We ended up getting a coffee table, a new lime green rug, two awesome yellow lamp shades and a really cool white pot for our new calla lily. thought I'd include some pics to show the place off. random night

so last night was a really random series of events in the life of a married college student.
first off, the wife had a shower in Ft. Worth where she stayed the night, leaving me to my pseudo-bachelor night.
the day started with a lovely four hour stretch of structures homework. (im studying to be a designer, not a structural engineer. thats why architects hire engineers, so we dont have to figure this crap out)
after homework at erin's, i grabbed some Mickey-D's (first real meal in two days, healthy i know) and headed back to the shack. after eating and sitting around for a while, i decided i would go out for a late night ride on the fixie. I ran into this group of other fixed gear riders on campus which was really cool. While i was still riding around, I got a call from Erin, Madalyn and Haley telling me to come hang at this bar in town, so i figured why not.
I finally got over to the bar were we had a couple enthralling games of word warp on the iPhone, pretty legit i know.
Then as we are about to leave this super drunk guy comes up and trys to get the girls to go with him to some random party. all he kept talking about was his limo outside and all that i could think of was that if i didnt get them out of there without pissing him off, him and his retarded friends could have easily destroyed me. I mean i am an amateur underground street fighter/ninja but i had already unwittingly revealed my presence in the bar. rookie mistake. so instead of trying to physically own this douche, i wowed him with my linguistics and safely navigated the three lovely ladies to their car.
after that i got home, did a little tae-bow and some inverted squat thrusts followed by a short session of quantum calculus (keep the mind sharp ya know) then watched the clock change from 1:59am to 3:00am in a matter of seconds (oh daylight savings time how i love thee). after all that, i thought i should sleep a little.
wonder what tomorrow will have in store but for now im just waiting for my really hot wife to get home ;)

So if you dont know, I am an architecture major at Texas A&M. I am currently in my first senior design studio which is being taught by Pliny Fisk III. He's this crazy-green designer thats really pushing us to think about the future of sustainability. We visited his center in Austin yesterday and it was a pretty cool trip. I took a ton of pictures of the center and this awesome new housing development called nine-six-nine. I took way too many pictures to post on here but I think im going to start a Flikr account because uploading pictures to facebook takes forever and i have a lot of really good shots i would like to share :)

anyways, here's a random pic that i accidentally took of my self, i was aiming for the building behind me and miss shot. and for an added bonus, here's an awesome pic of my crazy prof.

adventures into bike repair

so my thursday night was spent removing the bottom bracket from my fixie and attempting to not screw anything up. i have never worked on a bottom bracket and i dont have the right tools to even remove mine from the bike so it was intersting. when i finally got it off, the bearings inside were disgusting. there was essentially no grease inside anymore (which explains the really annoying creaking sound, the reason i took it apart in the first place). all that was inside was dirt and what used to be grease but had turned into so form of indian war paint or something. it was gross. anyways, i cleaned it all, regreased the whole shebang and reinstalled that bad boy. amazingly, i caused no longterm damage and actually fixed the creaking...awesome! i have to say, the best way to learn is to do, and i definitely learned a lot last night.

Speaking of the wife, I have decided to brag her a little...she got hired full time at the Scott and White clinic in town as a patient educator which is tops because i currently am what might me known by some as a squatter (living in someones house but contributing nothing in regards to bills and money). She started work today and I start school tomorrow.

I finally gave my bike a much needed tune up and have decided that riding around campus without brakes would be a bad idea since most people there are full blown morons and barely know how to walk much less walk around bikers. So I'm going to put my brakes back on today and then go get a super duper bike lock because I refuse to have two bikes stolen while attending school.

Well, new updates are due since i haven't posted anything for far too long now, so here goes.

On December 20th of 2008, I GOT MARRIED!!! pretty baller, I know.
Lauren and I are finally back in College Station and getting dangerously close to having our new place actually resemble an apartment and not a storage warehouse.

We finally got our wedding pictures back from the photographer and as soon as those are made public on his site, I will inform everyone because they are pretty amazing.

I haven't gotten to ride my bike since early last December and its really making me sad :( but i start school back up on the 20th and despite the fact that I'm not looking forward to school at all, I am excited that I will get to ride my bike pretty much every day :)

I'm about to start reading a couple of books that I've wanted to for a long time, one of which being Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. I've heard its great and I've wanted to read it since forever ago so I will let you know how it is when I get a little way into it.

I will post pictures of the new place as soon as we get it up and ready but for now I think that's a decent update. Feel free to comment and chat back with me. Take it easy folks.

Here's a picture of the fixie with new handlebars. I pulled them off an old mnt. bike frame then primed and sprayed them white. Im still looking to put white risers on but i dont have the cash to get some right now...oh well. I like the look of the striaght bars so they will do for the time being. Eventually, Im going to sand the whole thing down and paint it grey but thats not a priority right now. Also, since my crank is a single piece connecting to the biggest chainring, I'd like to ghetto rig that and cut the teeth of the ring off to give it a cleaner look. or replace the crank but again, no money. anyways, enjoy!

New Camera!

I just bought me and the wifey a new camera! im pretty stoked about it too. we've needed a new camera forever. Ive never had one and hers crapped out last month so its been coming for a while. I decided that i might as well go ahead and snag one while im still working. got a Cannon Powershot SX110 IS for $230. its got great review and i like it when i played around with it in best buy. Should be here by the end of the week i hope. heres a pic.

I was at work today and one of the bosses sent out an email that said something like "i have a flat screen monitor in my office. whoever responds first takes it home for free." so i sent an email back immediately and got a flat panel monitor for free. Then when i get home i plug it up to my laptop and find out i can run dual monitors!!! how awesome is that. i now have two screens to work on all my crap. YES (fist pump)! overall it was a pretty good day.

so after having so much fun making my fixie (now deemed "THE WOMANIZER") I decided to redo a bike for my ladyfriend. originally i bought an old Murry mt. bike at A&M's annual bike sale. It was in rough shape but i figured I might be able to do something with it. after realizing that I needed to replace the wheels on top of everything else, I decided that since I didnt have the money to buy new stuff for it, i would just sneak attack some garage sales and see what i could find. i ended up running into the super ritzy neighbor hood that was having a pretty good sized garage sale and saw this green-pink-and-purple dream, haha. the woman who was selling it looked like one of those real house wives of orange country and ended up telling me shed take $20 for it so i was like "deal!" I couldnt pass up a ride that rolled with so many colors of the rainbow. After i got home, i decided that the Lisa Frank bike was a better bet than the Murry, i scrapped the murry and focused on the new one instead. after a long drawn out ordeal, i got the freewheel gear cluster off the bike and got a new 16t single speed freewheel put on so it is now a simple one-speed cruiser. i cleaned it up and removed all the decals and then added a custom logo depicting the name given to the bike by lauren, "LaPassion." I also added some lipstick decals to the head tube, stem and right in the lapassion logo for a little more glam (how can more glam hurt on a bike thats rolling a purple fork and handlebars? it cant, thats how). anyways, its not meant to be an amazing ride, just meant to be something fun for her to roll around on. Im proud of it anyways. thanks for taking the time to check this out, i had fun making the bike so i hope you enjoyed it. have a glorious evening.

OK, well its not completely finished, but it is functional now. I can totally ride it and everything works great. From here on, all mods will be for either aesthetics or comfort. I plan on repainting the whole bike with grey and then doing all the details in black and white. I will be replacing the pink chain with a white KMC and the pink one will go onto Lauren's bike. I also want to put some pretty short riser bars on here since I'm not super fond of the bull horns but I'm really digging the 39/14 set up. its really good for flats and moderate hills but i really need to get back into bike shape, haha! anyways ill keep updated on the progress and hopefully that will all be sooner than later, ciao!

Ahh, so I went to college station this weekend and got some sweet parts that were greatly needed. I snagged a 14toothed cog and a new pink KMC bike chain, that's right, a pink chain. be jealous. i also went to A&M's bike sale and picked up an old Murry bike for my fiance for $20 bucks. The Murry is in decent shape but the freewheel is jacked and the chain is junk so I went ahead an snagged a single speed freewheel from the bike shop and I'm gonna use my old chain to bring the bike back to life. I don't have big plans for the Murry, just to get it functional again so she can ride along beside me, all happy like. ill post pictures when I get all the stuff put together so anyone who is actually looking at this can see what I've been doing in my science lab to bring this bike to life! But alas, i have a ton of homework this week so the build up might have to wait until next weekend but maybe not, we'll see.

fixie - end of day 3

End of the third work day and I mad a lot of headway today i think. I pulled the crank today and removed the stupid cover I didnt like. I was a little disappointed to find out that the 52 tooth chainring is integrated into the crank though, I wish i could take that one off because i want to use just the 39 tooth one but oh well. Im sure Ill end up replacing the entire crank later anyways. I also did a chop and flop on my handle bars (essentially cut them in half and flipped em upside down :) As soon as i get my single speed cog and a new chain i will be set! so hopefully after this weekend I will be ready to go! who knows though.

well its the end of day 2 and it was a hard one. getting my freewheel of the back wheel was insane. i had to go to three shops and finally they ended up destroying my gears just to get them off, haha, so they didnt charge me :) now i have to figure out how to pull my crank because it doesnt appear to be a normal, easy pull. of course i have to get the bike with weird parts for my first conversion. anyways, ill swing by the bike shop later this week and see what the guy there says but for now, sleep got work tomorrow.

its pretty ridiculous how full of love i am right now. i just had like the greatest weekend ever and it really reminded me how much i love my friends and family. it was laurens birthday on saturday and we just sort of hung out all day. it was seriously one of the best days of my life. and today (sunday) lauren had a bridal shower and while she was at that, i hung out with martin for like 3 or 4 hours. it was so amazing. so many people came to her shower and gave us so many gifts. im so gratefull to have so many great people in my life. i didnt realize how much i missed just hangin out with martin but today was a reminder of how great of a friend he has always been to me. also i hung out with josh hinkle who is probably in the top ten of the coolest people on earth so that was pretty sweet too. im just so happy to have so many great people in my life and i want every last one of you to know that i love you and will do anything i can to help you out or be there for you when you need me. thanks again to everyone whos been there when i needed it and i will return the favor if ever you need it. night guys, have a great week, i know im going to.
